Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act: With the Governor's signing of the Highland Act, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP") now will begin regulating development within the Highlands Preservation Area. The DEP has represented in recent correspondence that it will establish a web site "as soon as the Highlands Legislation becomes law" that will include Highlands Act related resources, general information and information for permit applicants and municipalities.
