Jim Courter, co-founder of the firm, until January, 1991 was Congressman
for the 12th District of New Jersey. Congressman Courter was a ranking member of the
House Arms Services Committee and the Republican Candidate for Governor of New Jersey
in 1989. In 1991, President George Bush appointed Jim Courter as Chairman of the Defense
Base Closure and Realignment Commission.
Prior to his election to Congress, Mr. Courter represented numerous
municipalities throughout Warren, Morris and Sussex Counties. He was also an active
litigator and Assistant Prosecutor for Warren County prior to his election. Mr. Courter's
practice includes federal and state governmental relations, administrative law and
international trade matters.
Mr. Courter is admitted to the practice of law in both New Jersey
and Washington, D.C., and is a member of the New Jersey, American, and Warren County
Bar Associations, as well as the International Court of Trade. |
