The Labor and Employment Law Section of Courter, Kobert & Cohen provides vigorous and effective legal representation to private and public sector employers on all labor and employment law issues. Our primary areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: developing positive and productive labor and employee relations; preventing, investigating and remedying sexual harassment and all other forms of discrimination; employee handbooks and training; discipline and discharge disputes, attendance and leave problems; wage and hour issues; employment contracts and restrictive covenants; collective bargaining; union grievances and arbitrations; interest arbitration; and all Civil Service disputes, including local disciplinary hearings and appeals.
We also regularly represent our clients before the Federal and State Courts in complex litigation matters and before various State and Federal Agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Division on Civil Rights, the U.S. and N.J. Departments of Labor, the Public Employment Relations Commission and National Labor Relations Board, the Department of Personnel and the Office of Administrative Law.
The Labor and Employment Law Department currently provides comprehensive labor representation for numerous employers, from large corporations to small business owners as well as several North Jersey municipalities, county agencies, school boards and non-profits.
